Welcome back to The Monthly Batch!
October is officially a full barrel with incredible events across Australia, and this edition is your all-access pass.
First thing’s first: if you’re in Brisbane, you need to secure your ticket to the LAST Conference on October 3rd. I’ll be your MC for the day, and you can still grab 10% off with my code “thelastbatch”. Get on it!
Dive into the listings below for 99 opportunities to learn, connect, and grow. As always, I’m on the lookout for new communities, so if you know of a great one not listed (or if you’re an event organiser who wants to connect over a virtual coffee or dram), hit reply and let me know.
I’ll be sharing highlights from my meetups on my LinkedIn, so feel free to follow along there!
Brisbane

SYDNEY:
Sydney is looking at 27 events this month with a mix of AI, User Group Meetups, monthly tech socials design thinking and three conferences including GDG DevFest, DevSecOps Focal Point Forum and BeerOps.

Plus there’s also the Testing Talks Conference and over 20+ more events to check out.

As well as an interesting topic covered at Canberra AI:Unclassified where their meetup on the 2nd will be talking about Australia’s sovereign capability and risk.
ADELAIDE:
Only 4 events to choose from this month, you’re looking at TechWalking (I need to get myself to one of these!), Utilising Creative Technology for Good, the AUSS Women in Space Panel and How to Build a Future Proof Tech Career in an AI First World. These events sound fantastic and I’m jealous I’m not able to get there!
DARWIN:
An empty batch this month.
HOBART:
One event on this month and an exciting topic from SecTalks! It’s back and to celebrate, they are holding a Lightning Talk evening with a series of 15-20 minute presentations on a variety of technical physical and cyber security topics.
ONLINE:
There’s not a lot online this month, but amongst the few are some great topics to choose from. You’ve got a virtual job and networking event for Data, AI and Tech professionals, as well as a practical discussion on metrics that matter for platform engineering leveraging the latest DORA report and finally, how you can break into product management.
Hi Sarah for posting the schedules. I'm wondering if only I can't see any events when I click the Sydney events page for October or you can't see any events as well?
